MTV and Seventeen magazine have combined forces in search of the ‘perfect’ seventeen-year-old in America.
“Project Seventeen,” a 10-episode show set to premiere this fall, will conduct a search for “America’s Sweetheart,” the network and magazine say. The producers say they are looking for someone with “well-rounded credentials to be a role model to Seventeen’s 13 million readers.”
“Since our viewers look to MTV for access and a behind-the-scenes perspective to the real world, we can’t wait to capture the drama and excitement of what it takes to be a Seventeen cover model,” says Lois Curren, head of series entertainment at MTV and an exec producer of the show. “We are confident that this will be a series that is completely entertaining — and empowering — to our joint audiences.”
The magazine has already begun flooding the airwaves and filling its pages with ads for the new show.
