[TNA] Current Locker Room Mood

News

AJ Stylees vs Abyss is said to be the Main Event for the Lockdown PPV. There is also an added stipulation that states that the winner of that match will recieve a TNA World Title shot at the May PVV on 5/15. The plan is to have each of the 6 Sides Of Steel Matches have a certain stipulation. This idea was brought up by Dixie Carter.

Before the TNA tapings the mood was said to be miserable as many were upset at Dusty Rhodes’ booking style. According to sources, there have been a number of meetings about the state of TNA in recent days and some of Rhodes’ ideas (Trytan, Harris Boys, Phi-Delta Slam, Dusty’s pickup truck office) were not used on the show. Dustin Rhodes was in attendance and was used for an hour of the taping. By the end of the taping, once word got out about the meetings, there was said to be a better mood among the workers. Right now there are two political groups: those who favor Jeff Jarrett and the way things were up to Turning Point and those who favor the way things have been running over Rhodes. Rhodes is still head of TNA’s creative direction and is still given a chance to improve things. Some people wouldn’t be shocked if Dusty was eventually gone. The word is that TNA management isn’t happy with with the feedback and the early prediction buyrate for Destination X.

There is word going around backstage during the tapings that there will be a new focus back on the X-Division works, including using workers who have not been used in some time. Another change that has been decided is that performers who are under contract at the moment with be used while the performers who were working nightly deals will not be used, so that might explain the absence of some newer talents.

For those wondering, WWE’s deal with NBC Universal will not affect TNA renting the soundstage at Universal Studios in Florida.
