NBA Commissioner David Stern has publicly revealed his current collective bargaining position on steroid punishment.
Stern would like to see the first steroid offense result in a 10-game suspension in an 82-game season, a second would lead to a 25 game suspension, and a third would result in a player being “dismissed and disqualified from the NBA”.
It’s believed reinstatement would be possible after two years.
Currently, a first offense gets a five-game ban, a second gets 10 games, and a third gets 25.
Stern also wants to increase the number of random tests for all NBA players to four per season with one random offseason test.
