For the 2004-05 season, Jerry Bruckheimer has seven shows (including two versions of “The Amazing Race”) listed among Nielsen’s Top 40 programs. For Bruckheimer, it appears to just be the start of something bigger.

Following Wednesday’s upfront presentation by CBS, Bruckheimer has four new series next season, in addition to his six returning shows. According to the trades, Bruckheimer’s haul of 10 active shows will break a record held by Aaron Spelling, who twice had seasons where he had eight shows on at one time.

Bruckheimer is continuing his influence on CBS’ schedule with new seasons of “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” “CSI: Miami,” “CSI: NY,” “Without a Trace,” “Cold Case” and “The Amazing Race” returning. CBS also picked up Bruckheimer’s new drama “Close to Home” on Wednesday. Those seven join NBC’s new “E-Ring” and The WB’s new “Just Legal,” as well as the comedy “Modern Men,” which The WB has set up for midseason. “Men” will represent Bruckheimer’s first attempt at comedy.
