Ramblings

Well, I just recently rented Medal of Honor: European Assualt for the PS2, and though I initially thought it was a lot better than most critics gave it credit for, I gotta say once I went deeper into the game I saw a lot of the flaws. Your teammates get in the way of your shots more times than they do something useful, and the adrenaline thing is kinda weak. Also, there are tons of glitches in the game, as I had rain coming through a roof, and guys who were moving with the bottom halves of their body dug deep in the ground. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good game, but when you’ve got Resident Evil 4 (a game which I’ve already beat) on the Cube, it’s hard to play more than just a few levels on MOH:EA.

On to RAW.

Eric Bischoff has tried to injure John Cena and wrest away the WWE Championship week after week. Tonight, things only get more difficult for The Champ as he must face both Chris Jericho and Carlito in a Handicap Match. Will Cena find a way to win again? More importantly, will he have anything left for his WWE Championship Match against Y2J at SummerSlam?

After their confrontation last week, the immortal Hulk Hogan will battle Kurt Angle on RAW. Both Superstars have SummerSlam matches in their future, but neither can afford to overlook Monday’s opponent. Kurt will attempt to take out his frustration on The Hulkster before getting his hands on Eugene at the pay-per-view on Aug. 21. And Hogan will undoubtedly be sending a message to HBK with every move he makes. Don’t miss this special RAW match.

After weeks of strutting their stuff, the 2005 RAW Diva Search will come to an end tonight. Last year’s winner Christy Hemme has been on a wild ride — from WrestleMania 21 to the sizzling beaches of Mexico to a Playboy Magazine cover shoot. Which hopeful will you vote into a spot as RAW’s newest Diva? Tune in tonight (9/8 CT; Spike TV) to find out.

LIVE from Montreal, Quebec Canada
Hosts are Jerry Lawler, Jim Ross, & Johnathan Coachman

Shawn Michaels walks out right from the start to some huge heat. HBK responds by singing his own version of the Canadian National Anthem, changing the lyrics a bit. He gets on to Hogan, guarantying him and the fans something that they will remember come Summerslam. Fans chant for Bret, but HBK says they aren’t gonna get him, because he’ll just screw him again. Bret’s music plays, but nothing happens. Please don’t pull a Matt Hardy, just bring him out. Anyway, Shawn gets on Hogan’s case, causing Hulk’s music to play. And again, nothing happens. Shawn keeps ripping on the two, as the crowd chants the Goodbye Song. He waits for the fans to stop, and HBK cotinues on with the comparisons. Montreal gets nasty with the language, as HBK says that all the Montreal men do is talk, while he walks the walk.

The Heart Throbs vs. Big Show
Nice pop for BS. I’d be very surprised if the Throbs’ tans weren’t fake. Show pushes them around some, and kills them with his chops. Antonio chop blocks Show as he presses Romeo, but Big just fights them off. The Heart Throbs focus on the legs of the Big Show, but he just pushes them off and manhandles them. Both get splashed in the same corner, and Show gets a double backdrop to set up the Double Chokeslam for 3.

Commercial break.

Eugene Invitational
The hometown hero is Rene Dupree, evil french mustache and all. Nice pop. The two lock up, and Angle runs in for the DQ. Okay.

Kurt beats down Eugene, and hits him with the Angle Slam to put him out. Kurt says that tonight, he will beat Eugene’s hero in a match, and show why he’s the most vicious son of a bitch in the WWE. Well, Kurt certainly didn’t seem happy.

They show footage of the match between Jericho and Chad Patton from last week.

Commercial break.

It’s time for the 1st elimination of tonight for the RAW Diva Search. The unlucky woman is Elizabeth, leaving Leyla and Ashley. We will find out who the winner is of the whole thing later tonight.

Video package of the Hardy/Lita/Edge triangle.

Backstage, Eric, Carlito, and Chris are watching the tube in the back, as they are all hyped about Y2J’s title shot. Eric says that he has a plan to get Cena booed out of the building, it being that all three of them will act like Canadians. Y2J says that he’s already Canadian, but he’s from Western Canada, which is apparently a lot different. Carltio, “That’s cool, eh?”

Commercial break.

Carlito & Chris Jericho vs. John Cena
Bischoff is at ringside, Canadian flag and all. By the way, on Cena’s entrance, the camera pans to some girl in the front row with a huge rack. Just wanted to mention that. Anyways, Cena gets nice pop, as all hope is lost for me. Carltio and Cena tie up, and Cena knocks him down. John gets in some headbutts and beats him in the corners, when Y2J comes in, allowing Carlito to get on Cena. John comes back with a backdrop, and throws Jericho in just to clothesline him out. Carlito gets thrown out as we cut to a:

We return with Jericho throwing Cena back in the ring. Y2J argues with the ref as Carlito chokes on John in the corner. Jericho slams him aorund some, and tags in Carltio who hammers away. Cena blocks a vertical suplex with one of his own, but Y2J still manages to get the tag. JR, “If Cena loses Sunday, then Boomer-Sooner to Jericho!” The two stay on Cena, with Carlito getting a swinging neckbreaker and some punches for 2. Carlito gets a spinebuster for 2. Y2J gets tagged in, and gets a missle dropkick for 2. Cena continues to get the hell beat out of him by Jericho, and Carltio comes in and hits a DDT for 2. Y2J back in, and Cena tries to fight back, but Chris goes for the Walls. John pushes him off, causing Jericho and Carltio to collide. The two get up, and Cena goes hogwild to delight of the fans. FU on Carlito and it’s over!

Afterwards, Y2J stops the fun immediately with a killer chair shot! Like seriously. Ow.

Diva Search finale time, and they show a video package of the whole search thus far. Coach tells us to look to the tiantron, where Ashley’s picture shows up. I guess that means she won.

Commercial break.

Edge vs. Val Venis
Edge actually gets some cheers for the first time in a while. Does Val even stand a chance? Val gets a side Russian legsweep and does some bumping and grinding over Edge. Edge rolls out, and Val follows, only to get his spine slammed against the ring. Back in, Edge gets a backdrop and hooks on the bow and arrow as King claims that the fans chant “Hardy”. Snap suplex is applied by Edge, but Venis comes back and gets a reverse elbow. Val knocks him down a couple of times, but Val can’t pull him up for a suplex because of his back, and Edge gets the Edge-O-Matic to set up the Spear. Val kicks him to stop it, but Val runs right into the Spear seconds later. Edge applies the Edgecator to make Venis tap.

Backstage, Conway and Stacy fight over mirror space.

Commercial break.

Rob Conway vs. The Hurricane
I actually like Conway’s music. By the way, JR does this weird impersonation of Coach stuttering, and it’s pretty funny. Conway quickly gets a back suplex for 2. Hurricane rolls through to get a cradle for a quick 2. Conway gets a running swinging neckbreaker for 2, 3 times. King, “JR has the body of a god. Unfortunately it’s Buddha.” Anyway, Hurricane misses the Shining Wizard, and Rob gets the Ego Trip and hits the elbow(!) for 3.

They runover the Summerslam card:
Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio – Ladder match
Chris Benoit vs. Orlando Jordan – US Championship match
The Undertaker vs. Randy Orton
Batista vs. JBL – World Heavyweight Championship
John Cena vs. Chris Jericho – WWE Championship
Edge vs. Matt Hardy
Eugene vs. Kurt Angle
Hulk Hogan vs. Shawn Micahels

That’s quite a packed card. Though I wonder how the ladder match will work.

Commercial break.

Kurt Angle vs. Hulk Hogan
Huge pop for Hulk. Kurt tries to get an ealry advantage, but Hulk fights him offf and puts on his own bandana and shades onto Kurt. On to the outside, where the fans chant “Hogan”, and Kurt eats post. Angle gets in some kicks as the crowd gets behind Hogan. Kurt gets a back suplex for 2. Angle applies the reverse chinlock, but Hogan fights out. Kurt gets another back suplex for 2, twice. Angle Slam gets 2, and it time to Hulk-Up. Kurt eats boot, and the crowd is itching for the Leg Drop, but Shawn runs in to cause the DQ.

Shawn tunes up the band, and hits Hogan with the…Sharpshooter. Hmmm. Shawn refuses to let go as we fade to black.

End.

Biggest Cheers
1)Hogan/Hart’s music
2)Cena
3)Show

Biggest Jeers
1)HBK
2)Angle
3)Bischoff
