NEWS ITEMS FROM SUNDAY’S “TURNING POINT”

There are several news items to report from Sunday’s “Turning Point” Pay-Per-View, including news on Sting, a new X Champion, Konnan turns his back on the former 4Live Kru, Johnny Damon with the assist, injuries and more!

JOHNNY DAMON WITH THE ASSIST ON SUNDAY

MLB star and former World Series champion Johnny Damon made the assist for AJ Pierzysnki, Dale Torborg, Chris Sabin and Sonjay Dutt on Sunday night, helping the stars to victory over The Diamonds In The Rough! Damon passed a home plate to Pierzynski, who used it to nail Simon Diamond leading to Chris Sabin hitting the Cradle Shock for the win! After the bout, Sabin and Dutt presented Pierzynski, Heenan and Torborg with TNA championship rings while Johnny Damon cheered on from ringside.

SAMOA JOE – NEW TNA X CHAMPION

The undefeated streak of “The Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe continued at “Turning Point” as the juggernaut defeated “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles to become the new TNA X Division Champion! A bloodied and battered Styles was mauled by Joe after the match until “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels made his return in attempt to fight off the new champion. Joe battled back and managed to level Daniels as TNA security hit the ring to break up the brawl.

KONNAN TURNS HIS BACK ON THE 4LIVE KRU

Konnan shocked the wrestling world on Sunday night at “Turning Point”, turning his back on his longtime Kru teammates and taking a steel chair to BG James and Kip James! While a shocked Ron Killings look on, Konnan laughed at his fallen former friends and left the ring in disgust. Why did Konnan attack BG and Kip? What is the future of the Kru? Tune in to “iMPACT!” to find out!

RAVEN SLAPS ZBYSZKO

Following his win over Chris K (formerly Kanyon), Raven was once again offered his release from Larry Zbyszko. However, the star slapped the Championship Committee member across the face – leading to Zbyszko attempting to fight Raven! Security held Larry Z back as Raven had a good laugh and left the ring. Certainly, Zbyszko let his anger get the best of him, but it remains to be seen if Raven is punished for putting his hands on a management official.

THE TNA WALKING WOUNDED

There were several injuries suffered by TNA stars at Sunday’s Pay-Per-View….

Both Sabu and Abyss were treated by TNA medical staff for severe lacerations after their bloody “Barbed Wire Massacre” on Sunday night. Sabu suffered cuts to his face, arms and legs, while Abyss had his left arm completely torn open by the razor wire among other rips to his skin. Both stars received dozens of stitches after the show.

Also receiving stitches was “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles, who had his upper lip completely ripped open during his match against Samoa Joe. The cut was deep enough to require several stitches from medical staff.

Raven also suffered a busted lip during his match, but did not require stiches

Jeff Jarrett received a nasty cut on his forehead during his NWA World Heavyweight Title match against Rhino

James Storm of America’s Most Wanted received what was described as a mild neck stinger in AMW’s loss to Team 3D. After being cleared by TNA medical staff, Storm was up and walking but he will be sore for the next few days.
