The Inside Pulse:
Labels are for jars, I know. But when trying to describe music in written word, I think we have no choice. So does melodic Mass-metal-core do anything for you? It should. Hell Within have come out of their corner in the first round swinging for the KO. They have mastered the aforementioned subgenres, blended them seamlessly and bludgeoned us mercilessly with their brute force sound. With the proliferation of Massachusetts hardcore and metal acts, it’s getting tough to tell them all apart but these guys really stand out from the crowd. Some people will call it thrash, some will call it Euro death metal and some will even call it hardcore. High velocity drums, shredding guitars, and vocals with true diversity and skill from death growls to harmonies make for a clean grind. These diligent, hardworking Bostonians have the talent and skills to put it all together. With a solid fanbase and critical praise, Hell Within is quickly securing their place among the upper echelon of American metal.

Positives:
Well, let’s start with the fact that this was mixed by Zuess (Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall, Hatebreed). Right away you have to know that the sound is going to be incredible. The metal world can recognize his work regardless of knowing the band. This is a very good thing for these newcomers. Zuess and Hell Within are another match made in metal hell.

Negatives:
Though they are a very welcome addition to the Masscore and New American metal scene, I think they are part of a movement that will unfortunately, but almost undoubtedly, burn itself out all too quickly.

Cross Breed:
Chimaira, Killswitch Engage, Agony Scene, Shadows Fall, Slayer, Still Remains, Bullet for My Valentine, Heaven Shall Burn, Caliban, God Forbid, Trivium

Reason to Buy:
With a conviction to lead the cutting edge of metal and the skills to make it happen, Hell Within is a band you need to know. With the power to give you chills and the energy to fuel your entire day with 40 minutes of mouth foaming rage, they will surely earn their way into your music collection.
