Bleeding Through – The Truth Review

Link: Bleeding Through

The Inside Pulse:
Forming in 2000, this Orange County band is unlike any of its native peers. You will never see them playing ska or punk. You will never see them on an episode of the O.C. Blending a mix of speed metal and hardcore, they released their second major label album, The Truth on January 10th, 2003.

Positives:
This album gets the essentials of a great metal record down pat. The mixture of European speed metal combined with the chunky rhythms of American metal, with the perfect amount of double kicks necessary to enrage a riot. The vocals on this album blend between incessant screaming and caring singing.

Negatives:
While the vocals are a nice touch to some ears, they may get old after awhile. They seem to follow the screaming verses and singing chorus almost monotonously on every track, which unfortunately will leave the hardcore fan wanting more screaming and the traditional metal fan wanting more singing.

Cross-breed:
Again, European speed metal mixed with American metal. Think a combination of Soilwork and Lamb of God.

Reason to buy:
Metal fans should eat up this disc. Long time fans of the band should have no reason to not like this album as it doesn’t stray far away from its predecessor, This Is Love, This Is Murderous. A very enjoyable listen all the way around.
