Hey there ComicsNexus Readers, I’m Batesmen. You might know me from columns such as McFarlane Quickies and the non-defunct Palisades Place.

While putting together a McFQ I noticed a lot of Image News on Spawn.com that hadn’t made its way to our site. So I checked with the big man and he said no toes would be stepped on if I wanted to write it up. So here I am; hope you enjoy the Crossover!

THE ART OF GREG CAPULLO

Any Spawn fan knows the name by heart. His reputation as an artist deserves nothing less than a bronze statue or national monument. Unfortunately, we don’t have the permits, so we gave him a hardcover. The Art of Greg Capullo showcases this artist’s extraordinary talent.

SPAWN: GODSLAYER
August 2006
A dramatic re-imagining of Todd McFarlane’s Spawn. Godslayer is a sweeping tale of fallen kingdoms, ancient curses and doomed love. Spawn: Godslayer is sure to appeal to fans of epic fantasy. Here is a brief synopsis of this new and imaginative story brought to you by the talented Brian Holguin (Spawn) and Jay Anacleto (Aria, Marvels Two).

In a far distant age of a world not our own, the Old Gods are dying, slaughtered one by one by the dark blade of a mysterious, unearthly marauder…

Under the protection of the goddess Llyra, the island kingdom of Endra-La, oldest and most storied of the Shrouded Isles, has avoided the cruel fate suffered by lesser kingdoms. But on the eve of a royal wedding, black sails are spotted on the horizon. Alarms are sounded and fire fills the skies. The Godslayer has come for them at last.

Enjoy some new artwork that hopefully will quench your comic thirst until August.
