Another week of ‘24′ and another week of Matthew Romanada and Rob Purchase’s wit and wisdom about ’24.’ Although one could argue if either of us have wit or wisdom. I want to thank Matt Hellens who wins the contest of the first to email me to let me know that Rob was incorrect with how Romano died in ‘ER.’ It seems Mr. Romano suffered two helicopter related injuries, the first cut off his arm, the second was a helicopter crash that landed on him killing him.
The debate of Helle’s fate seems rather ridiculous. If Heller does come back from the dead there will be many upset ’24’ fans to be sure.

Bill and Karen are on the phone. Bill tells her that Jack is on a flight.
Perv interrupts Karen but she sends him away.
Karen warns Bill to get Chloe away soon. And gives him info for Chloe to call her once she is away. Bill gives Chloe info on how to get away and tells her that Bill is going to be arrested by Karen, some sort of ploy.
Bill’s door is knocked on.
Romo: I love how nobody is surprised someone is knocking on their door at 2 a.m. I would totally play the I was asleep card.
Bill is asked to step aside by the Homeland people, he refuses and asks for a warrant. They threaten him.
Romo: He looks awesome in the white shirt.
Rob: He is rocking the white shirt.
Bill refuses to talk to the Homeland guys but says he will talk to Karen Hayes. Homeland guy calls Perv and updates him. Perv tells Karen they lost Chloe, she pretends to be upset. Bill totally burns Perv by pointing out he let Chloe get away.
Karen tells Ed (homeland guy) to bring Bill in. Perv is confused as to why she doesn’t let Ed run the interrogation.
Rob: Don’t ask questions busy hands.
They take Bill away in a car.
Chloe reaches the hotel Bill told her to go to. She pulls out the laptop and starts
Rob: She is gonna get hit on.
Romo: Hopefully he is hotter than Spencer.
Chloe calls Karen and says she is at the hotel and tells her the hotel s
The flight is heading to Frankfurt.
Romo: The Germans are back in play.
Chloe calls Jack and says she has the flight list. She tells him that Karen is backing them.
A totally sketch guy gets shot down by a hot chick at the hotel bar.
Rob: This is gonna be wicked. I sense some physical violence on this dude in 5 minutes.
Chloe gives Jack the air marshal’s seat location.
Jack pops up from under the floor of the plane’s cabin. He is wandering around the aisle looking for a seat. He asks if an empty seat is taken, its not. He takes a seat.
Jack elbows him in the face and knocks him out.
Rob: That is awesome.

Commercial time.
Romo: I hope Theo Stoller makes an appearance.

Chloe tells Jack the man is looking for is Hans Mayer, he is in seat 12D. He works for the German govt and is connected to Henderson.
Jack moves to sit beside Hans and says he is the air marshal. He says he needs to take him to the baggage compartment to confirm something from his luggage.
Jack punches Hans and strangles him to put him to sleep.
A stewardess is coming their way.
Jack throws im in the luggage area. The stewardess arrives to see no one.
Martha asks an Secret Service guy for her medication, he refuses. She starts ranting and calls Logan a son of a bitch. She asks the guy his first name, its Justin and says he doesn’t have much of a personality.
She goes back in the room and makes a call to Novick and asks him to come to her room. He says he will be right there.
Rob: Yes Novick is getting back in the game.
She tells Novick she has been cut off her medication. He says the doctor says she has to wait a few hours.
Novick suggests she just follow the docto’s orders. She says it wont go away. He is confused and asks what’s wrong. He tells her she should just say what needs to be said. She says she cant do that and suggests she just needs to get medication so she can get to sleep. She offers to him to watch her take the medication.
Logan gets a call, its Romano from ER again, he is upset they havnt found Bauer. Logan says he will call when he finds Bauer.
Novick tells Logan that his wife is an agitated state and she wants medication against docto’s orders. He gets upset and says no more pills. Novick asks if something is going on. Logan asks what she said.
Rob: Way to play your hand you f*cking moron.
Novick says if something is going on with national security he needs to tell him. Logan claims its not a national security issue, rather marital trouble. He tells Novick to give her what she wants.
Logan starts to question Hans. He asks for the information Henderson gave him. Hans claims to be ignorant of anything. Jack tells him to find his luggage.
The sketch bar guy asks Chloe what she is doing. She tells him to leave, but he says she is just freaked out by the curfew and says when she comes up for air he is buying.
Chloe makes a call to some airplane person to get info.
The stewardess makes a statement that turbulence is bad and everyone needs to take their seat. She realizes Hans is missing. Then the air marshal falls out of his seat. She informs the captain, who requests a return to the originating airport.
The air marshal walks up and realizes his gun is gone.

Commercial.
Rob: Some air marshal you are buddy.

Novick comes in to see Martha. He gives her some pills. She thanks him and cuts him off.
Rob: That is no way to treat Novick.
Novick asks Martha if something else is going on. She plays dumb. He says he is getting the feeling that they are both covering something up. Novick keeps pressing her for details and demands to not be shut out. Martha says there is something else but its between her and Charles.
Hans says Henderson did not give him anything. Chloe calls and says Hans is probably not the guy.
Jack tells her that the plane is turning which means they know he is onboard.
The air marshal figures Jack is in the baggage department. They are going to do something.
Jack senses that they are depressurizing the baggage area.
Chloe asks what is going on, she says a security alert was issued. She tries to patch through to the plane. Chloe asks Karen for help.
Karen makes a call..
Sketch guy keeps bugging Chloe and says she knows a way she can get free bandwidth. She tells him to sit down. She zaps him with a stun guy.
Rob: That was better than even I could imagine. We should all be packing some stun guns.
Jack is patched through to the pilot and gives the pilot info and demands that he stop depressurizing the baggage area. The co-pilot says they can just let him pass out when the air leaves the area. He says he cant help him.
Jack starts to try and cut through the ceiling.
Rob: MacGyver strikes again.
Jack pulls on something, it messes up the plan which starts to sway around. The pilot yells at Jack but finally says he will unlock the hatch and let Jack out.
The stewardess lets out Jack who has a gun on her and the air marshal. He makes them go to the wall and orders the air marshal to the baggage hold.
Rob: Wicked move.
He makes the guy lock himself in the baggage area.
Jack has a gun on the stewardess and walks through the cabin, prompting passengers to freak out. They go to the pattern. Jack talks to the pilot and demands he remain in a holding pattern until he can find the information. The pilot refuses to comply.
Romo: This pilot is a hardass.

Logan talks to his conspirator and tells him that Jack is on the flight being ordered back.
Karen is confused about whats going on with Jack and the plane. She figures there is nothing they can do because the president will arrest Jack and isolate him once the plane lands.
Perv welcomes Bill and asks what Jack is doing on the plane. Bill calls perv a little ass kisser, Karen interrupts and orders Bill to holding.
Perv makes a call to Novick. He is asking for his input and says he doesn’t trust Karen. Perv gives Novick the update of what’s going on with Bill and Chloe and how she wasted time to bring Bill back to CTU. Novick says he isn’t going to judge Karen and that her attitude towards Bill may be because she is dealing with a federal employee not a terrorist.
Rob: Shot down busy hands. Got molest someone to make you feel better.
Karen is with Bill in the holding area. She shuts off the monitoring of the room and they talk about whats going on with Jack and the plane.
Karen gets a call from Novick and Logan about the hostage situation on 520. Logan says its obvious Bauer is acting like a fugitive trying to get away. Logan says the plane has to land immediately and wants his secret service to take him into custody.
Bill tells Karen that Logan wants the plane down to get the evidence away from Jack.
Novick tells Logan that this doesn’t make any sense. Bauer has been on the right side of things all day today. Novick says Bauer has played them all fools.
Romo: You are a fool.

Rob: There is no way Novick is buying that. I am telling you that he is going to be involved in taking down the President.

Sketch guy wakes up near Chloe and she shocks him.
Chloe asks someone from the plane company about how the co-pilot didn’t check in. He tells her that the co-pilot was replaced at the last minute.
Chloe calls Jack and tells him about the co-pilot. He asks her to hook him up on a secure channel with the pilot. Jack calls and tells the pilot about Scott Evans and his connection to terrorists.
The pilot says the conversation is over.
The pilot tells Evans that Jack wanted him to land. He asks why he was replacing Don. The pilot feigns a leg cramp and asks him to take over.
Romo: I like this pilot.
The pilot pulls a gun on Evans but during the struggle the pilot gets knocked out. The door opens and Jack has a gun on Evans. After Jack threatens him Evans gives over the information on a memory key of sorts.
Martha is shown passing out”¦ She calls Logan and says he is going to have to help her if she is going to live with it.
She wants to know why he didn’t come to her. She is totally mumbling. Logan says she has been one tick away from a nervous breakdown for the last 3 years.
Rob: Is she going to off herself?
“Dr. Romano” (I still don’t know this guy’s name) calls Logan and says Bauer has the evidence and the only option is to shoot down the plane or he goes down for murder and treason.

The scenes from next week show an F-16 heading towards the plane and Jack ordering Evans to descend quickly and to land to avoid getting shot down.
Final Comments:
Romo: A very solid episode. I am disappointed in Martha. She has fallen pray to the big Pharmaceutical companies and their “drugging of America” to avoid actually living a real life. Novick though is rounding into fine form, sadly it would have been cooler if he hadn’t dicked around for the first 20 hours of the day. My MVP of the episode, Bill Buchanan, although Chloe and sketchy Hotel Bar Guy deserve consideration.
Rob: The MVP of this episode is of course Sketchy Bar Guy. This guy got the greatest acting job there has ever been. He got to play a drunk. He got to hit on random women. And then he got sit incapacitated for the past half hour because of several stun gun hits. I predict an Emmy for Best Guest Appearance.
