[SD] TV Taping Results from Albuquerque, NM (Spoilers)

News, Spoilers

What’s the significance of the date May 19th? Oh yeah, that’s when the next episode of SmackDown! airs. Plus it’s the debut of Kane’s movie See No Evil. Do you see the connection yet?

World Heavyweight Champion Rey Mysterio faced none other than the Big Red Machine, as orchestrated by JBL. However things didn’t go exactly according to JBL’s plan, as he “accidentally” said the words May 19th himself, after tricking Rey into saying the date to draw Kane’s wrath in the first place. JBL got what you might expect from Kane, as the Albuquerque crowd chanted the mystical date in unison.

In other action, Velocity began with Sylvan smashing a (supposedly) local whose name I failed to hear, and surprisingly, Sylvan used Marvelous Marc Mero’s old TKO finisher for the win.

Pirate Paul Burchill defeated Simon Dean with his “Walking the Plank” finisher.

Kid Kash and Jamie Noble (sporting matching tights and a new “dog pound” gimmick, complete with collars and chains, and barking) defeated two more nameless jobbers with a swank tandem finisher.

Cruiserweight Champ Gregory Helms defeated Psicosis in a non-title match with the former “Eye of the Hurricane”.

The F.B.I. (Nunzio and Vito) defeated Scotty 2 Hotty and Funaki not once, but twice, as the Worm demanded an immediate rematch, then lost again. After the first match, the ref dragged Scotty and Funaki back to the ring, and it seemed he must have asked them to give the crew a few more minutes, hence the second match between the two teams. Guess they weren’t ready to begin SmackDown proper just yet…

On SmackDown, all 3 members of MNM faced the Hooliganz and Jillian Hall, Kurt Angle appeared on the Tron, and Bobby Lashley destroyed Jarred Steel (I think that was his name).

Booker T and Lashley had words when Lashley attempted to sit in the KOTR throne.

Booker and Finlay then squared off against Chris Benoit and Gunner Scott in a solid tag team bout.

Next, Mark Henry faced Matt Hardy in the battle of the MH’ers. Finally, JBL brought out Kane. After the entire Kane segment (presumably when the cameras went off air) Mark Henry rejoined us for the locally advertised 3-way between Rey, JBL and himself. Needless to say, Rey will still be the champ heading into Judgment Day.

SIGN OF THE NIGHT: “He’s not Eddie! He’s Rey!”
