The book opens in modern day with Bedlam (a future Eddie Brock and corrupted symbiote) versus Venom (modern day Dylan Brock the son of Eddie Brock).
Bedlam can tell there is something different about Venom.
So, Dylan explains to him what happened and why he’s different.
Hoping to the see the Sleeper symbiote in more than flashbacks.
A new look Red Goblin, Normie Osborn the grandson of Norman Osborn aka Gold Goblin fka Green Goblin, joins the fray.
He teams with Dylan Brock’s Venom against Bedlam.
We then get a flashback to show that Normie Osborn knows that Eddie Brock is still salvageable within Bedlam.
We then see Dylan provide Normie with the new Red Goblin symbiote.
Back in modern day, Dylan Brock evolves from Venom into Codex during his battle with Bedlam.
The Venom / Codex and Red Goblin team-up is joined or frustrated by Ms. Marvel!

So glad to see that the story that has been building since this Venom volume 5 began continues and fits seamlessly within the Dark Web arc. Curious about the teased conclusion next issue. Solid action, intrigue and drama. It still can be head scratching to understand the how Bedlam and Codex exist, but the issue is entertaining nonetheless. Solid art. 8.5 out of 10.
