Kenta Kobashi, 39 and one of the top pro wrestlers in the world, has been hospitalized after being diagnosed with kidney cancer.
According to WrestlingObserver.com, Kobashi found out about the cancer during a routine medical examination. He was given a CT scan after complaining about severe pain in his waist during the exam, and it is believed that he will be getting the tumor removed via surgery. He is in too much pain to wrestle.
Pro Wrestling NOAH made this announcement in front of Differ Ariake in Tokyo, its home arena, as president Mitsuharu Misawa read a statement and was then interviewed on the NTV Network. David Ditch has more on this story in his Puroresu Pulse.
We wish Kobashi and his family and friends the best.
