– In this AP story, it is reported that Kurt Angle “is he leaving entertainment wrestling, even though he is not formally announcing his retirement.” Much of the story seems to be based on the WWE.com report that featured Angle’s comments on his release. WWE.com has also today posted comments from Vince McMahon on the subject.

– WrestlingObserver.com is reporting that TNA iMPACT! last week did a 0.8 cable rating.

– Former WWE/WCW/ECW wrestler Sean Evans was recently diagnosed with lung cancer, and a benefit show for him will take place on September 14 at The Masquerade in Atlanta. According to WrestlingObserver.com, “Evans is a non-smoker, has no insurance and is out of work while undergoing treatment” and scheduled to perform and/or sign autographs at the event areLita, Raven, Lex Luger, Buff Bagwell, Kanyon, Glacier, David Young, Elix Skipper Vince Russo, Terry Taylor, Erik Watts, Brad Armstrong, Mike Sanders, Luther Biggs and David Wills.
