The Pit Report: Trigg Comes out of Retirement

Columns, News

It was announced on Tuesday that Frank “Twinkle Toes” Trigg is coming out of retirement. Let’s just say that Hell ain’t exactly freezing over.

From MMAFighting.com:

Frank Trigg is back from a brief retirement to challenge Jason “Mayhem” Miller for the Icon Sport World Middleweight title. Trigg is moving up to 185 pounds for this fight.

Icon Sport “Unstoppable” takes place on December 1st from the Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Current Fight Card:
Icon Sport Middleweight Title: Jason “Mayhem” Miller vs. Frank Trigg
Icon Sport Bantamweight Title: Tyson Nam vs. Mark Oshiro
North American Welterweightt Title: Sydney Silva vs. Jay Jack
Falaniko Vitale vs. TBA
Robbie Lawler vs. TBA

Tickets for the December 1st event will go on sale Saturday, September 30th at all Ticketmaster locations.

That “brief retirement” was more of a four month vacation.

Trigg announced his retirement on April 29th of this year, following a loss to Carlos Condit at Rumble on the Rock 9.

In a statement announcing his retirement, Trigg said, “I am overwhelmed with the support that I have received regarding my announcement of retirement. It is truly humbling as well as inspiring. It’s been a rough year and I just need to take some ‘me time’ to figure out the direction that I will be going in, but I’m not and can not leave the sport entirely.”

I don’t like Frank Trigg. I have never liked Frank Trigg (check the second-to-last paragraph). He should’ve stayed retired, but no, he insists on annoying me. Yes, just me personally.

I hope Miller finishes him with a rear naked choke.
