El Paso recently lost its CW affiliate; following is a KVIA press release:

EL PASO, Tx. – The new CW network launched across the nation Monday, but not in the Sun City.

KVIA had been scheduled to carry “the CW” on a new digital channel, but negotiations with Time-Warner Cable were not successful.

Time-Warner may not legally import the CW signal from a distant station such as KTLA, and the CW network has advised KVIA not to air the digital over-the-air-signal.

Residents in Las Cruces, where KVIA has reached agreement with Comcast Cable to show the CW on cable channel 14.

For residents who wish to see the CW in El Paso, they can contact Time-Warner Cable.

KVIA’s programming on channel 7 will not be affected.
