Future Hall of Famer Mogilny done?

Yeah, Alexander Mogilny is a future Hall of Famer, and he may be inducted sooner that he woud have liked as Mogilny (or more like the Devils) have gotten what they wanted and that’s Mogilny being placed on the long-term injury exception list.

This released $3.5 million for the Devils and resulted in Brian Gionta finally signing a new deal.

Mogilny will continue to sit out and await to recover from his hip injury which kept him out of action for most of last season and made him utterly ineffective when he was in the lineup…whether with the Devils or in the minors.

Mogilny entered the NHL in 1989 after being the first Russian player to defect from his home country and was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres.

Along with Sergei Federov and Pavel Bure, Mogilny was part of a dynamic line which powered the national Russian hockey team.
