TiVo Central – Grey's Anatomy – Episode 3-4

Shows

If they wanted you to scream out “Oh My God” to start off this episode like everyone else did in the beginning, then it worked. At least for me. Most of the cast were saying “oh my god, it’s Mark “McSteamy in our hospital as a member of the staff!” Except Meredith who said it before she threw up. But then that patient pretty much blew is whole face up by lighting that cigarette and I screamed out “OH MY GOD!”. Pretty funny actually, but that’s just me.

I have to tell you that I LOVED drugged-up honest Meredith! She said things she wouldn’t normally have said. Alcohol helps that sometimes, but medicine can work as well. It really opens up a person’s soul. I loved George’s look on his face when he walked in to see Derek and Finn in the room with Meredith. Of course, her reaction was better. “Now all of my boys are here!” George was at his awkward best here. Great stuff.

Speaking of George, lets talk about him and Callie. They break up here. Callie breaks up with George and that’s just the way it should have been done. Callie is right. George cares about Izzie and Meredith. There is no denying that. And again, I’ve been saying all along that George doesn’t love Callie. He didn’t have the same feelings for her that she had for him. That was pretty obvious to me, because I’ve been there. Callie was just there and George was able to deal with the Meredith thing with Callie. She was the “rebound girl”, so to speak. However, George is the nice guy. He would have never broken up with Callie. It was up to Callie to see what was really going on and do it herself. That’s what happened. It’s want George wanted to do, but couldn’t. Now he doesn’t have to. I, for one, like Mark and Callie together myself.

Izzie getting a visit from Denny’s dad was whatever. It didn’t do anything for me. I didn’t really like Denny anyways, so that’s probably why. But Denny’s dad telling Izzie the truth was interesting. Was Denny using Izzie all along? Maybe that’s not right to say, but he didn’t tell Izzie the truth.

Burke and Cristina fighting about his hand was interesting. I suppose that provides some more development to their characters so that’s good. I don’t have anything else to say about that right now, though.

I appreciate the fact that Derek doesn’t want to hurt Meredith again. That’s a man right there. To stand up and walk away, because that’s the best thing for the girl you love. If you can leave her, no matter how much it hurts you, and know that she will be happier without you, that’s what a man does. Sure, sometimes you have to fight for that girl, but you also have to learn when not to fight. If you can walk away with respect, it can end up in your favor in the long run. As you see, it worked here. Derek was willing to let her go and Meredith chose him as a result. However, I knew that was coming. I also know what Finn says is true, though.

And speaking of that, here is Finn’s final line which I loved as well. “He’s going to hurt you again and when he does I won’t be here.” Quote of the night belongs to “Denny” in the final voiceover..“Mistakes are painful, but there are the only way to figure out who you really are.”

This was a great episode. Best of the season so far. Lots of stuff going on, but everything went off without a hitch!

Sir Linksalot: Television News

I'm not embarrassed to say that my favorite television show of all-time is The O.C. I live by the motto "you can't fight fate!" More importantly, I watch WAY too much television, but I do so for the benefit of everyone reading this now. So to my mom and my wife, I say thanks for reading! To everyone else that might stumble across this, remember TiVo should be your best friend!
