Yep, it’s been a while since I did a CE. Chuck has been standing in for the past month while I tried to get the house together and such. Jen and I moved in right after I got back from Botcon. Every weekend Chuck emailed and said “do you need me to do the CE?” and I also meant to do one, but then I had to install a washer or some such nonsense.
It’s Halloween time again and that means Bludgeon pics”¦and a little Fallen for good measure.
So what’s the deal, I thought you retired?
I have to some extent. Chuck and I are talking about trading the CE back and forth every other week. The other option would be a bi-weekly CE and a bi-weekly Kaye’s Konundrum. We’ll see how it goes.
What the hell happened to the “Botcon Special,” you slack ass Jew?
I still want to do one since I like giving my perspective from the dorkiest place on earth (next to a Star Wars convention). Those things are fairly long and I honestly have had the time to sit down and write it. I will though and I’ll add in an exert from Tim and Sal. Why in the HELL didn’t IP win the Battle of the Boards?!?
IT WAS RIGGED!!! No, just kidding. Honestly, we rolled in with Sal who didn’t know anything about TFs except the comics he had just started reading within the month, Tim who knows Beast Wars era stuff, but not much else, Chris who bailed on us (what you didn’t think I wouldn’t give you shit in the column?), David Mack, and me. Now, here’s the funny part. Jen ended up subbing for Chris. Why is that funny? Jen does not know jack diddily squat about Transformers. She knows who Prime is, that Megatron was a gun, and that Minelba was the first female TF. The Allspark team cheerleaders got scarred of their being a female on team IP. Don’t worry guys, your “V Chip” will know when the time is right. What’s funny is that in the finals she, being a web designer and comp guru, gets the only random question she would know without guessing: In the Beast Wars cartoon, what problem did the creators have with the CGI characters? They couldn’t keep their skin on. Random. Then Sal had to leave early on Sunday, so my friend Pablo stepped in to help. I met him at Botcon 04 during the trivia contest, so he was a natural replacement for Salba.
However, we still managed to come in second with this rag tag bunch of Primates. Kudos to the Allspark team, they knew their shit. We’ll be back again next year to grab the title.

If you watched “Attack of the Show” on G4 the Thursday after Botcon then you probably saw your fav TF columnist commenting on the worth of his Kollection”¦
Now we’re at V3 for IP. There is no more figures section and apparently all my archives are shot and gone. Yes, even my Kollection pics seem to be gone and buried. That’s bad. It means I have to take 150 more pics this Xmas to do an updated Kaye’s Kollection. I was going to do it on TF Comics, but that looks to be out. Maybe I’ll just make my own website with my Kollection. Hmmm”¦.

Yeah, I got TFs. The Botcon stuff I’ll go into detail on when I write the report. So let’s touch on some of the others:
Green Ramulus: I’d take a pic, but I already sent it off to be graded. As most of you know, the Hartmans were selling off their collection. They had up for auction this bad boy and I couldn’t help it. I didn’t even want to spend a lot of money at Botcon, but I did anyway. Chris walked me by the table and I started bitching about this huge line just to see their MIB toys. Then low and behold, green Ramulus. Dammit”¦
The auction was a silent bidding process that ended on Sunday. I talked to Fred from Fred’s workshop and he was interested too. He asked how much I was willing to bid and I just said “I’m the guy who won the Stunticons.” His eyes got big as the realization hit that he was talking to a mad man willing to do anything to get his toys! Mwhahahaha!
Errr”¦yeah, anyway”¦
So we just basically said we shouldn’t drive up the price for each other. I told him my max bid and it was too much for him. He went after a MOC Bumblejumper (pretty piece) and I got Ramulus. I know have a piece of history that may have been the initial crack in the 3H armor. It’ll now be the center piece of my Glenn Hallit memorial
GalvaLioConvoy: I’ve been after this guy for a while. Hydra found one for me and we worked a deal out on him. I really can’t tell if I love the color scheme or hate it.
Hydra is trying to talk me into a Lucky Draw Master Galvatron. I do want him, but damn”¦that whole “bill thing” is getting in the way at the moment. Ah, the life of a home owner.
I got two Japanese exclusive puzzles featuring redecoed LioJunior figures. I had wanted these for a while and got them both for a hundo. I’d show pics, but they have already been absorbed into the symbiotic creature known as the Kollection. In other words, I dropped them off in NC on the way back to Miami.
The Botcon Sets make me want to cream. Trust me, the sets looks better in person. I’ll go over each figure in the special.
The Titanium figures look like kids who won the Special Olympics. They’re awesome and retarded at the same time. I’m going to hell for that one”¦Anyway, Scourge no longer looks like a damn flying boat, Jetfire is the best so far (until the classic hit), Thundercracker is a dumbed down version of Galaxy Force Starscream, and Optimal is”¦yeah. They all look much closer to their cartoon counterparts in robot and alt mode, but are painted crappy and the joints are uber loose. It’s a catch 22
The Beast Wars figures aren’t impressive. However, I now have Transmutate. Sigh, the things I do for a complete Kollection
On the other hand, the Classics are a must. Every figure is a must have and that’s saying a lot for any line. Even the Megatron, with his goofy ass color scheme, is a great looking toy. I’m dying to get the Jetfire toy, which should be out this month. Is the line a cheap nostalgia pop? Sure, and by God it works. The toys are also pretty and up to par with today’s toys. I’m actually happy this will be a fairly short line. It cuts back on my TF expenses for a bit”¦
Aaron Archer said that Starscream is what he would have wanted for the Alternators line. He’s just slightly larger than the Alts and would fit in well. Starscream is everything you would expect from a Masterpiece figure. He has tons of articulation, a look reminiscent of the cartoon, and tons of extras. He can hold MP Convoy’s Megs (or 20th Anniversary Prime’s), he comes with Dr. Archeville, and he smirks. That’s cool. My only complaint, as is the rest of the TF community’s, is that he’s really dark. Archer said “if” he were released in the States he’ll be much lighter.
MP4 Convoy with Trailer. Do you know what that translates into? Me buying somewhere around my 10th version of this figure. I have two MP Convoys, four 20th Anniversary Primes (two had the grey gun), I won a MP Convoy that became Nemesis, my kitbash, two of the new 20th Anniversary Primes with voice box, and now Convoy with trailer. Yep, 10 on the dot. I haven’t opened him yet, but the trailer looks cool. The voice box Prime doesn’t have the battle damage of the first release. As for the voice box”¦too bad it wasn’t Cullen. They explained it was mainly a time issue. Eh, two more for the Kollection. Damn the small smokestacks. It emasculates the poor guy
Kitbashed Alternator Arcee is hot. TF Master made this toy and entered it in the art contest. You’ve probably seen it on a bunch of other sites. It’s made from Mirage’s body with the Energon Arcee’s head (I think). I saw this and had to buy it off him. I almost bought a Brawn he created from Hound’s body too, but after Ramulus I thought I might conserve a little fundage.
Now, here’s the kicker. I have a couple of rare and exclusive stuff to put up on eBay. First is the REALLY rare white Headmaster Kirk. Of all the lame brain stupid ass situations”¦I have only seen white Headmasters thrice. The first time I didn’t pick them up. The second time I grabbed Kirk off eBay. The Third time was this Botcon and I couldn’t remember which friggin’ figure I had. My stupidity is your gain. I got it at a good price, but I’ll be putting it up on eBay soon.
The second rare piece was the convention pin that only the first 100 attendees got. I know this isn’t highly sought after, but it’s rare all the same. It’s a small pin in the form of one of the golden disks.
Keep an eye on eBay for them, plus some random other junk lots I have.

MP 5: Megatron
There is a god. It’s even rumored to be an oversized Walther P38. It’s an amazing time to be a Transfan. Think about it. We have show accurate replicas of Prime, Megs, and Starscream, we have the Classics line which is updated G1, we have the Alternators, which are basically updated G1s (some), and we have a movie coming out. That was a great seguay”¦
The Transformer movie toys will have “Pre-Earth” toys/modes released:
The figures basically look like that evil ass Megatron did. See, if you just relax the world tends to balance itself. This looks to mean that ALL the TFs look silver and goofy before Earth. Plus, they turn into asteroid looking contraptions (See: “We won’t be using the Ark in the movie because that would mean giant robots that turn into things that move would have to ride in a giant flying thing that they could have just turned into”). Whew, that was a big breath. In other words, maybe their alt mode is an asteroid looking space ship until they land on Earth. That also leads me to believe that the “leaked Megatron” was indeed pre-Earth and he’ll pick up an alt mode somewhere down the line.
Hot Topic has two new TF shirts. They’re “tuxedo” style Prime and Soundwave chests. I know what about a half dozen Transfans will be for Halloween. Don’t forget your cape (and deodorant)!
