Hyde Park Entertainment and Capcom are banding together to bring a film version of the popular video game series, Street Fighter, to theatres.

As you all may remember, there was already a live-action movie called Street Fighter made back in 1994. Colonel Guile (Jean-Claude Van Damme) led a group of the fighters against M. Bison (Raul Julia) and his band of miscreants. And we all know how good that movie was.

Anyway”¦the new film will be focusing on Chun-Li, but any more details to the story or plot were not revealed. Justin Marks has been chosen to pen the script. Marks hasn’t been known for much except that he is also writing the script for 2008’s Voltron.

Hyde Park and Capcom are aiming to release Street Fighter in 2008, which happens to be the 20-year anniversary of the video game.
