Depeche Mode – Remasters Review

A Broken Frame

Some Great Reward

Songs of Faith and Devotion

Website: Depeche Mode

The second round of Depeche Mode remasters is here, bringing with it much of what the first round had to give: clearer tracks on CD and a DVD featuring the album in 5.1 sound and a portion of an ongoing documentary covering the years surrounding the release of each particular album. Oh yes, and a fair number of remixes from singles.

While an album like Songs of Faith and Devotion doesn’t show the benefits of remastering quite like their older works do, again, it’s the complete package that makes these a must-buy for diehard fans. Much like the first batch, it’s worthwhile to replace old copies of the album with these remasters. There’s simply that much to these packages that the casual listener as well as the schooled fan will appreciate.

A big thumbs up to Rhino for not half-assing these remasters, and until the next batch is released…
