WWE Financials & PPV Buyrate News

News

In WWE’s latest public financial statement (PDF file, needs Adobe Acrobat Reader to launch), it reported a PPV buyrate for ECW’s December to Dismember PPV at a mere 90,000 buys. Yes, 90,000 buys.

The lowest PPV buyrate of the year was No Mercy’s 197,000 — more than double December to Dismember. To be fair, the ECW PPV was one of five wrestling PPVs in five weeks in late 2006. To be brutally honest, the 90,000 figure is less than 30% of the 304,000 PPV buys ECW One Night Stand did in 2006.

Other numbers:

– Armageddon: 239,000 buys, down from 280,000 the year before
– Survivor Series: 383,000, up from 370,000 the year before
– Cyber Sunday: 228,000, up from 207,000 for last year’s Taboo Tuesday
