Universal Pictures has all the rights to create a major motion biopic about the life and career of former singing duo Milli Vanilli.

It will tell the story of group Milli Vanilli who rose to the top of the pop charts in the early nineties and quickly disappeared into obscurity after being caught in deceiving the world. Frank Farian formed the group and cast Fab Morvan and Rob Pilatus as the front men to helm the group. Problem is that some songs had already been recorded by other artists for the group yet Morvan and Pilatus claimed to be the original singers. Caught in may lies and deception, Milli Vanilli quickly faded from the scene.

Morvan went on to be a public speaker and released his first solo album in 2003. Pilatus tragically died at the age of 32 to a drug overdose in 1998.

Jeff Nathanson (Rush Hour 2 & 3) is set to pen the script and Kathleen Kennedy (Schindler’s List, Jurassic Park franchise) will produce. Nathanson will begin writing the script after production on Rush Hour 3 is completed.
