Fallout from the ROH Announcement

Archive

According to Mike Johnson at PWInsider.com, TNA has pulled all of its talent from Ring of Honor shows effective immediately. TNA made the decision after ROH announced their plans for upcoming pay-per-views.

This may greatly affect ROH as, although Christopher Daniels had done a farewell match at their last show, TNA still had several other wrestlers who were still regulars such as Homicide and Austin Aries. In addition, ROH apparently had plans for a Samoa Joe return, which will have to be scrapped now.

Also, California-based Pro Wrestling Guerrilla also sent out a press release. On March 24, they had received notification from TNA that would prohibit TNA talent from appearing on any shows which would be sold through a third-party vendor. Since 2004, PWG has been selling their DVDs through Highspots, which qualifies as a third-party vendor. In response to this, as of today, PWG has issued word that they have severed ties with TNA and will no longer be using any TNA talent on upcoming shows. PWG goes on to apologize to wrestlers who they had booked for future dates (including Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley, who were set for the Tag Team title tournament on May 19th and 20th) and also thank other TNA wrestlers who had competed for them in the past.
