Some TNA notes reported in the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter:

– The late Jill Jarrett had been battling cancer on and off since the late ’90s. She and Jeff were high school sweethearts in Hendersonville, Tennessee, and had three daughters ranging from ages 3 to 11.

– LAX has been scaled back to the midcard because TNA sees Konnan as the star of the act and does not rate Homicide or Hernandez as top talent. Since Konnan is due for a kidney transplant and will be out for a while, and has also made it clear that AAA is his priority these days, TNA does not want to be put in a position where they will lose something on top if he leaves.

– There are still talks about introducing an X Division tag team championship, although Jeff Jarrett is against adding superfluous titles. Some feel that Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley, the Motor City Machine Guns, are getting rave reviews on the indies and could carry the titles to help establish the division, whilst cutting back on the number of meaningless four and six way X Division matches.

– Sonjay Dutt’s new gimmick is that he wears Gandhi clothes and preaches non-violence to Jay Lethal and Kevin Nash. TNA wanted him to wear a turban with a jewel in the middle and he said maybe they should just have him drive a cab as well.

– Ricky Banderas is due to start with TNA at the next tapings on the 19th June, as Jim Mitchell’s new monster to feud with Abyss. The two had a feud in Puerto Rico and Dutch Mantel would likely be behind most of this.

– Mike Tenay scripted most of the Steiner Brothers/Team 3D verbal confrontation on the 24th May Impact.
