The Missing Link Passes Away at 68

News

Slam Wrestling at canoe.ca is reporting that Dewey Robertson, the Missing Link, passed away this morning. He had been battling cancer.

Robertson began his career in his native Canada in the 1960’s under his given name. In 1973 he headed to the United States and returned to Canada as the Masked Crusader a year later.

In 1983 Robertson arrived in Mid-South Wrestling and changed his look, becoming the familiar Missing Link. The Link’s green face and tuft of hair (which he would grab before performing a headbutt) saw his popularity explode.

The Link was signed by the World Wrestling Federation in 1985, then returned to World Class a year later. In World Class, the Link had been part of Gen. Skandor Akbar’s Devastation Inc. and was later managed by Sunshine. In late 1986, he headed to the now-renamed UWF and was managed by Dark Journey.

Although the Link had retired in the 1990’s, he returned to action as the Missing Link in 2004 and competed as recently as 2006.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the friends and family of the Link in this difficult time.
