In Hindsight: Canadian Idol – Aug 14 (Results)

Shows

It’s results time, and we get to find out who stays… and who goes home. Maroon 5 is here, and so are Zack, Sass, Farley and Jake.

Let us take you back to last night where Dwight played the first (legal) guitar solo in Idol history. The judges had clearly forgotten Josh Palmer’s solo back in Season Three. For Dwight’s sake, I hope that history doesn’t repeat itself and he gets turfed. With some of the better performers gone, I think that either he or Brian will take it, although Jaydee clearly has won the 3rd annual Kalan Porter Award for “Guy with a lock on the young female vote”. Although at least with the other guys the judges, you know, LIKED them.

Oh, well. Time for Maroon 5, singing “Wake Up Call” and “Makes Me Wonder”. Great songs, but Adam Levine clearly phones it in. Maybe their live shows are better?

Result time! Ben announces the singers in twos, where one is safe and one is in the Bottom 3:

Matt and Carly Rae – Carly Rae is in the Bottom 3.
Jaydee and Dwight – Jaydee is… safe, meaning that Dwight is in the Bottom 3.
Brian and Tara – Tara is in the Bottom 3.

Ben goes to the judges for comments.

Sass understands why two are in the bottom three (I’m guessing she’s surprised about Dwight).
Farley thinks that Carly Rae will go home tonight.
Zack thinks that somebody has to something that makes the voters say “WOW”, otherwise you’re in danger of going home.
Jake thinks that someone has to step up and show that they want to win. He hasn’t seen that from anyone outside of Brian.

Going home tonight is… Tara. The crowd boos. We get the highlights, Tara sings “Walking on Sunshine” again (poorly), and we’re out.
