Mike Johnson at PWInsider posted a correction to his report from earlier today that WWE has signed Ring of Honor star Matt Sydal. While he is “expected” to sign with WWE, that “is not yet the case (partially because he’s in Japan on tour)” according to Johnson.
Sydal, who also had a run as part of the short-lived Wrestling Society X, is expected to fulfill his previous obligations with independent wrestling organizations.
According to Johnson, Sydal was offered the WWE deal several weeks ago, and had also been sought after by ROH, TNA and Dragon Gate. No word yet on when he will report to WWE developmental.
