It is the rematch that the world has been waiting for. Well, at least a few hundred people in Mississippi. The ultra-charismatic Charles “Krazy Horse” Bennett takes on Victor “Joe Boxer” Valenzuela in the rematch of a controversial draw from some show that no one watched. How fitting that their rematch takes place on a show that no one will watch. Seriously, who is out there thinking, “Randy Couture? No thanks. Give me the guy that makes faces during referee instructions instead.”

These two were scheduled to fight on the Shamrock-Baroni undercard but Bennett ran into some “legal problems.” Bennett had to spend the night in jail and was unable to make the trip to that fight. Edson Berto replaced Bennett and made Joe Boxer tap quickly. Now Joe Boxer finally gets his man in Charles “Krazy Horse” Bennett.

Charles “Krazy Horse” Bennett vs. Victor “Joe Boxer” Valenzuela (Lightweight)
Ref: John Manley

Krazy Horse puts Joe Boxer down with his first punch and swarms him. Boxer grabs a heel hook but Bennett spins out of it and throws another wild punch out of the spin to a downed Boxer. Valenzuela pulls guard and gets back to his feet. Bennett is keeping his hands down, evading punches (some of them) with leaning and head movement. Boxer rocks Bennett. That’s not very hard given his lack of defense but Bennett does appear to be in trouble. Bennett is still keeping his hands down and Joe Boxer is picking him apart. Bennett already looks gassed and he crumbles to the mat after a combination against the cage. Boxer gets his back but Bennett taps before anything happens. Victor Valenzuela by tapout due to strikes at 3:23 of the first round.

Krazy Horse milks the moment by laying face down and motionless after the fight, only to literally run out the cage less than ten seconds later. That guy couldn’t care less about MMA or his career in the sport. He seems content in merely amusing himself with his own antics and I can’t help but respect him for it. Still, it would have been nice if he were in better shape so he could have made it past the two-minute mark.

Televised Undercard

– Umar Love forced Brendan Tierney to tap via rear naked choke at 4:08 of round 1. This was actually a pretty nice grappling match between the two middleweights.

– Hector Urbina outfought the defensive-minded Ray Lizama to a unanimous decision in their 195 lb catchweight bout.

– David Huckaba got knocked the f*ck out by Jon Murphy at 0:19 of the second round of their heavyweight contest. This was the best fight of the night and it ended brutal fashion.

– Seth Kleinbeck knocked Jaime Jara out with one second remaining in the second round of their middleweight fight. This was otherwise 9:59 of boredom.
