Episode 2

– Joey lost to Mac Danzig in Episode 1 and immediately gets homesick. The fighters don’t leave the house when they are eliminated as was the case in the earlier seasons so Joey has to stick it out. Plus, Matt Serra says he could use Joey as a coach. I hope he’s a better coach than a fighter because he didn’t show any skills whatsoever in his loss to Mac Danzig.

– Team Serra gets to select the fight this week and puts Matt Arroyo in against Dorian Price. Team Hughes loves the matchup and thinks Serra is giving this one away. Arroyo is a ground specialist while Dorian is a kickboxer.

– Matt Hughes hands out bibles to his team. He claims he isn’t trying to convert anyone to his religion, just that there are some good stories in there that could serve to be inspirational. Fair enough as long as it is left at that, which it appears to be. Serra hears about this and obviously takes it the other way, using it to further his claim that Matt Hughes is indeed a dick.

– Joey is still acting like a baby and wants to call home. He knows the rules and it is pissing Matt Serra off. Joey said he never asked to call home when confronted by Serra. Serra believes his friend and says he doesn’t want anymore distractions from Joey. Don’t we all.

– The fight goes just about as planned for Team Serra, minus the knee to the face that Dorian landed on Matt. Once Arroyo got the fight to the ground it was curtains for Dorian, who fell victim to a rear naked choke.

Episode 3

– This Joey storyline is murdering any interest I had in this show. I don’t care about this dude that misses his girlfriend. Either leave or shut the hell up. Dana White comes in to talk some sense into this kid. After White seems to have made a breakthrough with Joey, he’s walking out the door five minutes later with his luggage. White made it clear to Joey that if he quit the show, he wouldn’t fight in the UFC again. What I liked best is that it looked like Joey had to walk to the airport with his luggage in tow. Thank God that guy is gone.

– Team Hughes was up to select the fight this time and they elected Billy Miles to take on John Kolosci. Serra was happy with this pick as Kolosci had said all along that he wants to fight Miles. Miles misses his family. Here we go again with this crap. Hughes sits his team down and talks about missing family and how he’s going to retire after only a few more fights.

– Billy had to cut some major weight, something in the area of 20 pounds. He was able to make weight with the help of Hughes’ fitness coach. Perhaps the drain from cutting weight hurt Billy in the fight but he didn’t look good. He actually lost the fight on a guillotine choke that he left out there for ten seconds before Kolosci did anything about it. I doubt Hughes is happy about losing an early fight that he set up and the clips for next week’s show seem to agree with that.

Episode 4

– Team Hughes goes through a physical practice on the heels of a heartbreaking loss. Serra still thinks Hughes is a dick. It’s funny every time he says it. Although you rarely see Hughes talking junk about Serra. Just saying.

– It’s time for the fight announcement. Matt Serra picks Richie Hightower to fight Blake Bowman. Once again, the other team is happy with the fight choice. Serra is trying to give all his fighters a chance to win so it seems like this is a matchup of two of the weaker fighters.

– Blake is goofy, according to those in the house. He seems very likable. He even spurns a comparison to Cro Cop as he admits the time he broke someone’s orbital bone was merely by accident. Blake hurts himself during training in the rib area but doesn’t want to have the doctor look at it in fear they may find something to cancel the fight over. That’s stupid. If you’re hurt, don’t risk more serious injuries because you don’t want to look like a wiener on TV.

– Dorian gets dizzy during practice but he doesn’t want to show it so he can keep training. Dorian gets emotional and the camera man wants him some of that. The boom mic violates Dorian’s personal space and he karate chops it. The camera man backs up but Dorian still isn’t happy with the filming. Dorian gets up an goes after the camera man but is picked off before anything physical takes place. Dana White comes to talk to Dorian. He lets Dorian off the hook with a warning and he’s allowed to stay in the house.

– Mac Danzig, who has grown to become everyone’s big brother on the show, is becoming annoyed by Richie. From his voice, to his personality, to his style of wearing hats, Mac Danzig doesn’t like Richie Hightower.

– Blake Bowman has a record of 0-0. How exactly did he make this show? As a fighter, Blake is a funny guy. As a comedian, Blake is a terrible fighter. Richie took Blake out relatively quickly with a TKO. Blake hurt his knee during the fight and was taken to the doctor afterwards.
