KT TUNSTALL THINKS THAT CARRIE UNDERWOOD SUCKS

Insider

Scottish singer/songwriter KT Tunstall is apparently hopping mad at Carrie Underwood for winning the Best New Artist award at this year’s Grammys, and also went as far as to pan Underwood’s vehicle to fame, reality show American Idol, calling it a “money-making puppet show.”

The comments aimed at Idol are said to have been brought on by Tunstall’s disgust in her mildly irritating hit single “Black Horse and the Cherry Tree” being featured on the show, being sung by one of its contestants. She further blasted Underwood by telling reporters, “It’s weird when the Best New Artist is someone from a reality TV show who sings other people’s music.”

Tunstall, who had also been nominated for a Grammy in the Best Female Pop Performance category, may have been a wee bit bitter after losing out to Christina Aguilera (and DJ Premier), and it seems really unclassy on her part to be lashing out at Carrie Underwood. Sure, Underwood is famous because of winning American Idol, while Tunstall (almost ten years older than Underwood) had a long, hard road to fame, having to play in several different bands before hitting it big, but the end result is that Tunstall is now famous. Not to mention that she’s way too old to be acting like a boner about this. Maybe she should put her money where her mouth is and make some better music. At least Carrie Underwood didn’t used to steal cosmetics from Boots. That’s right, Carrie Underwood probably wasn’t going to defend herself, but I did. Carrie Underwood, please do feel free to reward me in any way you find fit. Any way.
