Welcome to the Comics Nexus Awards 2007!

If you remember the 2006 awards, we’ll be running things a bit different this year.
We are giving awards in more categories, and giving more awards in each category. Due to these changes, the awards will now be a week-long event, Monday being the introduction, followed by four daily columns.

The awards rundown is:

DAY 1 – CHARACTERS

Villain
Team

DAY 2 – CREATORS

Writer
Artist
Editor
Breakout Talent
Company/Imprint

DAY 3 – STORY

Collection
Crossover

Storyline

DAY 4 – TITLE

Limited Series
Marvel title
DC title
indy title
Best title

Twenty Awards in total! Voted by our dazzling team of talented staffers:
Iain Burnside, Manolis Vamvounis, Paul Beasley, Eugene Tierney, Jim Trabold, Pulse Glazer, Tim Byrne, Mathan Erhardt, Steve Murray, Tim Stevens, Paul Sebert, Matt Morrison, Mark Stoddard, Will Cooling and our honorary staffer and Nexus founder Ben Morse.

Instead of giving just one measley award for each category, this year we decided to honour the best three of each category. Thus, our shabby Nexus Award from years past

Is now replaced by three shiny new (slightly better-coloured, but no less cheap and tacky) awards:

The Golden Nexus, the Silver, and the Bronze Nexus!

Also, give a warm fanboy welcome to your hosts for this year, who made this whole extravaganza possible:

On the left corner, the Boss-Man himself, the Greek-est (if not Geek-iest) editor in comics: Manolis Vamvounis, running up and down from editorial, to presentations, communications, graphics and comics links!

On the right corner, the sexy devil from Scotland, be glad this is not audio-described or you wouldn’t understand a word from his mouth: Iain Burnside, hosting our show and introducing each award!

(We’re now accepting you bets for ‘Spot the Gay‘ in the above snap)

Tune in tomorrow for our first day of Awards, with

Best Male Lead
Best Female Lead
Best Supporting Character
Best Villain
Best Team

ah, the good old Dr Manolis, the original comics Greek. He's been at this for sometime. he was there when the Comics Nexus was founded, he even gave it its name, he even used to run it for a couple of years. he's been writing about comics, geeking out incessantly and interviewing busier people than himself for over ten years now and has no intention of stopping anytime soon.
