News on WWE Films, TNA Tours, Rehab & MMA

News

Kid Kash lost in his MMA debut on 21 March to Bryan Brown in Kentucky. It was said to be a close fight, with Brown winning after a three round decision.

Scott Hall and Jake Roberts have both left rehab. Hall apparently left before he was supposed to because he wanted to attend the Hall of Fame ceremony, although he has reportedly since returned.

TNA’s tour of the UK in June is going to be their most successful house show run yet. They have already added a second night in Liverpool after the first sold out, whilst ticket sales for the Coventry and Brentwood shows are strong.

WWE have hired Steve Barnett to a major production and development role within their films department. He performed a similar function at Dimension Films and will now be organising the straight-to-DVD, $20 million budget movies that WWE wants to start releasing. The idea is that the new movies will all be PG-13 as part of their renewed interest in marketing to kids, with the strong performance of Game Plan, starring Dwayne Johnson, and the popularity of guys like John Cena leading to success in that demographic. A website cartoon focusing on Rey Mysterio and others is also in production.
