Missing Links on Horsemen, Briscos, WWE Kids, Orton & More

News

MVP, CM Punk, Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio were interviewed by GameSpy the day before WrestleMania about their hopes for the show and their favourite video game characters, amongst other things. Punk puts over Double Dragon, instantly earning ten-thousand kudos credits. Orton, as ever, had some memorable comments to make, such as his thoughts on John Cena: “Maybe he’s too much of a good guy. If he had a bit more of an edge, that would help.” He was also very complimentary about Mysterio: “When I look at Rey out of the ring, that’s how I’d like to picture myself and my baby who’s old enough to come watch me wrestle. To set a good example, be a good father figure, but at the same time when I come to work, I’m all business. I think Rey is a perfect example of someone who can do both things.”

The Stamford Advocate has more information on the upcoming WWE Kids magazine, which launches next week. Bob Lee, publishing director, says the move towards the kids demographic is because “…there’s a very strong likelihood that if they were to walk away from that brand, they’ll come back to it later in life.”

The Miami Herald has a very good article up about the Brisco Brothers alongside general comments from WWE wrestlers about the Hall of Fame.

Meanwhile, PWTorch is reporting that Ole Anderson was invited to appear at Ric Flair’s farewell ceremony on Raw this past week, as well as to appear on the Four Horsemen DVD last year, but turned both offers down. He also criticised Flair, saying “He had a lot of potential to begin with, but he’s never had anything different than the same damn match every night… The point is he still doesn’t have any idea how to have a match work. So they gave him credit for the last match here in Orlando. Wonderful. I hope it is. It’ll be the same as it always was. Tell me the match the other night was different than any other match he’s ever had. He always does the same damn dumb things.”
