Courtney Solomon announced today that Sean Ellis’ The Broken (review) is the first film to play at this year’s third annual After Dark HorrorFest. The film played at this past January’s Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.
The Broken is a psychological horror project, starring Lena Headey (the Sarah Conner Chronicles) as a woman whose life descends into nightmare after she sees an apparent double of herself driving by in her own car.
Lionsgate will release the film on DVD in 2009. Courtney also explained that he hopes to release only original productions in HorrorFest 4 for 2009.
