Pulse Wrestling’s Real-Time Smackdown Report 12/05/2008

Reviews, Top Story, TV Shows

The work week is over! Time to settle in and enjoy another Friday night with Pulse Wrestling! As Smackdown went off the air last week, Jefff Hardy and Triple H were still at odds. Will they kiss and makeup or will we see the Extreme version of Jeff as he battles for another shot at the WWE Championship…

The show opens with a recap of the Beat the Clock matches for the #1 Contender for the WWE Championship. Smackdown General Manager Vickie Guerrero says that Hardy and HHH won their matches at the exact time and the WWE Championship will be in a Triple Threat Match at Armageddon against current champion Edge.

Smackdown is aired on MyNetwork TV with Jim Ross and Tazz as our ringside announcers. Edge and Vickie come to the ring and I think Edge got some new ink.

”The Rated R Superstar” Edge, WWE Champion vs. Kung Fu Naki

The bell rings and Kung doesn’t waste any time going after Edge with a nice DDT off the ropes with a two. Naki goes for several quick pins and gets a two every time and Fu delivering a nice kick, cover and two. Unfortunately, Edge delivers a boot to the face and sets up for the spear, covers and gets the three.

Winner: Edge with a spear.

Naki has been doing a great job in the ring. The match was too short but it was worth seeing Kung Fu Naki work. After the match, Vickie has to have a mic so she can carry on about Edge being back and having the title. She says that his opponents should be in matches tonight and Triple H and Jeff Hardy will be in matches tonight, teaming together in a tag team gauntlet match. There is a steel cage over the ring and JR tells us that The Undertaker and Big Show will be in the cage later tonight. We go to commercial break.

On Monday night, Pulse Wrestling brings you the Pulse Wrestling’s Real-Time WWE Raw Report.

WWE Rewind: The 6 Diva Tag Team Match from last Friday. If you didn’t see it, you didn’t mss anything.

Michelle McCool, WWE Diva’s Champion vs. Maria

The referee calls for the bell and McCool decides to go after Maria with fists. Here’s hoping that one of them manages to look good as a wrestler in this match but that doesn’t seem to be working out. I can only describe this as a bad cat fight. Tazz spends his time during the match talking about Taker vs. Show and Ross talks about Hardy vs. Trips. Maria mercifully delivers a roll up and it’s over.

Maria with a roll up.

I’ve complained about this fiasco enough. We go to commercial break.

Maria is backstage with the Bellas and Carlito and Primo when she is attacked by McCool. The match we just sat through wasn’t enough? JR introduces a video of “Behind Enemy Lines Columbia” the movie starring Mr. Kennedy. Big Show is on the screen to tell Undertaker that tonight it’s his game because the steel cage is his yard, not Taker’s and we see a video of what Big Show can do and we go to commercial break.

He may claim to be the next Real Latin American Idol, but Angelus Wilson does hold the RXW Total X Title. While his methods may be questionable, he knows what he wants and is willing to do whatever it takes to win. Seeing is believing! You be the judge…check Angelus Wilson out on facebook and become an Angeluholic.

Porter is in the ring to tell everyone about his bad run of luck and that he didn’t manage to secure the victory he needed before Survivor Series and he lost his incentive money. He has no more entrance tunnel, no more pryo, but he is still MVP. And his opponent is YOU GOT IT! Hurricane HELMS! Yeah!

Montel Vontavious Porter vs. Hurricane Helms

Hot damn! Helms is lookin’ good and Montel may be sorry he picked on this guy. Hurricane has an awesome tattoo on his back, all the way across if you haven’t seen photos. The ref calls for the bell and Porter goes after Helms with all he’s got but Hurricane comes back with some nice wrestling maneuvers. Hurricane gets kicked off the ring apron, MVP pulls him back in and covers but Helms kicks out. Hurricane decides to use a few fists of his own and a nice clothesline drops Porter. Helms delivers a nice elbow, comes off the top with a cross body but gets nailed by Montel’s clothesline. Hurricane delivers a neck breaker, the axe, covers and gets the three.

Hurricane Helms via pinfall

I have to say that Hurricane looks healthy and did a decent job in his first match back. An extremely made up version of Hardy appears backstage with Trips, they have a verbal confrontation and we go to commercial break.

Mr. Marshall brings you Thursday night action Total Nonstop Action

WWE Smack of the Night: Jeff Hardy versus “The” Brian Kendrick with Ezekiel Jackson last week. Not a great match, but a good match. Triple H versus “The Gold Standard”Shelton Benjamin match. Another good match.

Tag Team Gauntlet Match
”The Game” Triple H and Jeff Hardy vs. Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder

I was wondering where Hawkins and Ryder had gone. They haven’t been on Smackdown for a long time. Hardy starts the action facing Hawkins but Jeff nails a whisper in the wind early, Trips tags himself in and Hawkins tags in Ryder. HHH nails the spine buster, delivers the pedigree, Hardy comes off the top, but Trips moves out of the way, Jeff is distracted by Hawkins, The Game gets the pin and Jeff and HHH have a shoving match.

Winners: HHH and Jeff Hardy

vs. John Morrison and The Miz and we go to commercial break.

Back to the action, HHH is in the ring with Miz and Miz is taking an old fashioned beating. Trips drops and knee and covers but Miz kicks out. Hunter tags in Hardy who continues the beating on Miz, cover and two. Miz tags in Morrison who delivers a boot to the abdomen, but Jeff tags in Trips and John is getting what Miz just got. The Game tags in Hardy and he goes to work on Morrison, covers, no luck. Hardy slaps, or tags in, Trips. HHH gets a knee to the back courtesy of Miz and John comes off the top, takes him down and tags in Miz. Miz goes for a cover for two and Miz tags in Morrison who covers for one. Hardy gets the crowd fired up and Trips is back to his feet, but John tags in Miz. Jeff delivers a thumbs down to The Game and then gets the audience fired up again. Hunter delivers a back suplex and Hardy slaps Trips on the back to tag himself into the action. John comes in and Hardy takes on both men. Jeff covers Miz but Morrison breaks it up, HHH is in, everyone goes out but Hardy and Hardy comes over the top to take out everyone. Jeff and Trips fighting disagreeing worked till just now when HHH goes after Hardy on the floor, the ref has to call refs in from the back, both of them meet steel steps, the ref calls for the bell and the fight continues on the floor.

Winners: John Morrison and The Miz via countout.

I actually liked this match. It worked very well even after the break down between the partners. We go to commercial break.

We are back and we see a video of the battle between Hardy and Trips prior to the break. Edge and Vickie are backstage discussing what just happened and it looks like Jeff and HHH will face off next week on Smackdown. Hardy breaks in to know what they wanted and Edge tells Jeff he wasn’t the one that took him out of action, it was Triple H. The Game walks in and it’s on! Security and refs appear to break it up and, gross, Edge and Vickie have a smooch session and we go to commercial break.

Matt Hardy, ECW Champion vs. Chavo Guerrero

JR reminds us that Chavo is the nephew of the Smackdown GM, in case anyone forgot. The ref calls for the bell and we have a little wrestling before Chavo goes for the ropes but they do go back to wrestling, Hardy goes for the cover for one. Matt delivers a bulldog for another one. Guerrero tries fists this time, but Hardy comes back with fists of his own. Matt goes to the second rope and comes off with the elbow, covers for two. Chavo delivers a nice dropkick, covers and gets two. Vladimir Kozlov charges in and takes out Matt, tosses out Guerrero and goes after Hardy by tying him up in the ropes and delivering head butts to the chest. Again an entire unit of refs arrive to get The Moscow Mauler out of the ring. I take it there was no winner, no one was announced, the Khali Kiss Cam is coming up next and we go to commercial break.

We are back from the commercial break to the WWE commercial break for WWE merchandise as Christmas gifts with HBK Shawn Michaels and Triple H and The Great Khali with Ranjin Singh come out in Christmas attire and it’s Kiss Cam Time as Singh has mistletoe in hand. Khali tries to bail but the Kiss Cam is going around the audience but Ranjin stops the camera and says he wants to give Khali a special gift and he introduces Santa’s Little Helper who happens to be Eve Torres and The Punjabi Playboy gets to kiss her and we go to commercial break.

Steel Cage Match: The Big Show vs. The Undertaker

Do we have bets on whether or not that cage holds up? Show starts off with jabs to the body and keeps Undertaker in the corner. The Dead Man isn’t getting many of his own hits in. Big Show delivers a sloppy leap off the ropes but Taker rolls and only gets caught by Show’s feet. Undertaker gets a breather and is back on his feet, but not for long and we go to commercial break.

Back to the steel cage, The Dead Man is still taking a pounding from Big Show and he’s down again. Taker comes back with a hard right and we have a slugfest in the center of the cage before Undertaker delivers a leg drop and goes for the cover for two. Taker delivers two clotheslines in the corner, tries to go old school but gets cut off by fists from Show. They are both up on the second rope and Show takes The Dead Man down in a superplex off the top, covers and gets two. Big Show delivers a boot to the face and then climbs up to the top and then tries to climb out of the cage but Taker is back to his feet and they are both on the top rope with another slugfest going on. Show falls to the mat and The Dead Man starts to climb and is on the top, but stops to draw his hand across his throat and climbs back down to the top rope, comes off with a leg drop and Big Show rolls out of the way, covers and gets two. Taker delivers a DDT, covers and gets two. Big Show counters Taker and delivers a choke slam, covers and gets two. Undertaker delivers a series of right hands but catches a punch to the jaw as he comes off the ropes but The Dead Man sits up. Taker hooks up Hell’s Gate and Show taps out.

Winner: Undertaker via submission
