Ford And McAdams Team For Abrams' Comedy

News

Paramount Pictures has set Harrison Ford and is negotiating with Rachel McAdams to star in Morning Glory, a comedy J.J. Abrams will produce.

Roger Michell is set to direct.

McAdams would play an aspiring news producer who tries to save a failing morning show by getting control of its feuding anchors. Ford will play one of the anchors, and the female thesp playing the other anchor will be set shortly.

Aline Brosh McKenna (The Devil Wears Prada) wrote the script.

Abrams and Bryan Burk are producing for Abrams’ Bad Robot banner. Exec producers are Sherryl Clark and Guy Riedel.

Deal puts Ford back in business with Paramount, where he last starred in Indiana Jones and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Ford next stars in the Wayne Kramer-directed ensemble drama Crossing Over.

McAdams is starring with Robert Downey Jr. in Sherlock Holmes and recently completed State of Play and The Time Traveler’s Wife.
