Gossip Girl – Episode 2-17 Review

And the Gossip Girl scandal is back! While most of the episode this week bordered on mediocre, the end made it all worth it!

Blair is still out to get Ms. Carr but comes up empty-handed. She tells her minions to make something up. That gets a little easier when she sees a strange and somewhat overly-friendly interaction between Dan and the teacher.

Dan and Serena know Blair is behind the rumor, which has now spread throughout the school. When approached, she denies it. Too late. The school board has learned of it and accuses Blair of slipping the false information through Gossip Girl. She is expelled.

Meanwhile, Nate and Vanessa spend the episode with Chuck at a mansion that Chuck vaguely remembers being at the night before. This whole storyline was confusing and boring to be honest. Chuck searches for this girl he hooked up with who is apparently the nanny, Elle.

Blair’s father is determined to declare his daughter’s innocence and save her Yale acceptance, but it looks like she doesn’t have proof. That is until Serena walks by a coffee shop and finds Dan comforting and hugging Ms. Carr. Assuming the Dan lied to her, she snaps a photo of the two and shows it to Blair. They later break up.

Chuck ends up finding out that his father was involved in some sort of secret society and that Elle is an escort of sorts who thought he was his father. It all seems to secretive and the next day, the nanny is reported missing. Dun Dun Dun!

The school board and parents are shocked over the photo and vote to fire Ms. Carr and Blair’s student status is reinstated. While Ms. Carr thinks she is fired, the headmistress tells Blair that she has to keep her to avoid a wrongful termination lawsuit. But, Ms. Carr doesn’t know that.

End scene: Dan goes to the teacher’s apartment to apologize and she kisses him! But no, it’s not one of those quick little kisses. She actually pulls him into her apartment and they start ripping at each other’s clothes! “I don’t work at Constance anymore.” That’s what you think, Ms. Carr.

It figures we have to wait a month for a new episode with a good cliffhanger like that!
