HBO Renews Big Love For Another Year

HBO will keep Big Love in the family for another year.

As Zap2it’s Korbi Ghosh reported yesterday, the show has been renewed for a fourth season. HBO made the official announcement Thursday morning (Feb. 5), saying that production on the new season will begin later this year for a premiere in 2010.

“The stellar reviews and solid viewership this season confirm that this is a signature series for HBO,” says Michael Lombardo, president of HBO’s programming group. “Under the inspired creative supervision of [creators Mark Olsen and Will Scheffer], the series keeps getting better and better.”

The current season, which premiered Jan. 18, is averaging about 5 million viewers per episode across multiple weekly airings and on-demand viewing. The show’s most recent episode on Sunday drew 1.5 million viewers on its first airing, which was an improvement on the season premiere despite airing against the Super Bowl.

HBO is re-airing the first three episodes of the season starting at 8 p.m. ET Friday.

I'm not embarrassed to say that my favorite television show of all-time is The O.C. I live by the motto "you can't fight fate!" More importantly, I watch WAY too much television, but I do so for the benefit of everyone reading this now. So to my mom and my wife, I say thanks for reading! To everyone else that might stumble across this, remember TiVo should be your best friend!
