White To Be Featured in ESPN: The Magazine

News

Dana White will be featured in an upcoming issue of ESPN: The Magazine. The editorial staff is going through final cuts on the piece, but it’s expected to focus along the same lines of the ESPN E:60 episode that will air on May 12. The general story behind both the magazine piece and the E:60 segments are that, yes, Dana White took the sport from absolutely nothing in the United States and gave it credibility and helped it rise to unimaginable levels (at least given the stature of the sport in pop culture ten years ago), but will his attitude and tendency to say whatever he feels hinder the company from growing any more?

Both pieces are going to be very interesting. White believes that the E:60 interview is going to be treated much like the Brock Lesnar interview where he simply ended the interview and walked out because he didn’t like the questions being asked. In White’s case, he was answering whatever questions the ESPN crew was asking, but he had a Zuffa public relations girl with him who contested some of the questions being asked (and the answers being given), and demanded that those questions and answers be cut from the show or else it wouldn’t be allowed to continue. White also believes that the Loretta Hunt issue (and White’s general treatment of the press) will be a major focal point of the segment.
