One of the surprise successes of the last TV season, CBS’ special I Get That a Lot, will get some more life on the network.
The hidden-camera special, in which celebrities work regular jobs and attempt to convince people they only look like the famous people they are, will be back three more times in 2009-10. The first special aired on April Fool’s Day and featured Heidi Klum working in a pizza shop, Jeff Probst bagging groceries and Jessica Simpson fixing computers.
Although it wasn’t heavily promoted on the network, I Get That a Lot won its timeslot in viewers (10.35 million) and adults 18-49 (3.4 rating) and gave CBS its highest ratings at 8 p.m. Wednesday in five months.
CBS says it will announced celebrity participants for the three new specials later. The network also hasn’t set any airdates for the show.
