Early estimates have Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince with the biggest midnight gross of all-time: $22.2 million.
Last month’s Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen pulled in $16 million.
The HP figure, if it holds true, would have obliterated the $18 million record set by The Dark Knight last year.
It has been two years since we last saw the boy-now teenage wizard battle evil. When The Order of the Phoenix was released, it only grossed $12 million for midnight showings.
