Anicent-Aliens

Aliens. Extra-Terrestrials. Intelligent Life on other planets. Either you believe these things or you don’t. Personally, I like the idea of it, but have yet to see sufficient proof. Thusly, I thought a look at how aliens may have had on effect on ancient civilizations might be kind of interesting. I thought wrong.

In this History Channel special several “experts” weigh in on subjects from ancient texts and cave drawings to architecture such as the Pyramids and the heads on Easter Island and talk about how these things could only have been built with the help of extra-terrestrial intelligence.

While watching this I couldn’t help but think of lying in the grass and staring at the clouds. You look at them long enough and you begin to see images, you begin to see what you want to see. And that’s exactly what I felt about these guys. They would show a cave drawing and say how it has to be an alien or a spacesuit or a spaceship and they offer no other option, no other explanation.

These so-called experts seem to have very little faith in ancient man’s creative abilities because they seem to think that there is no possible way that they could have done the things they did. Otherworldly help seems to be the only option for these guys.

My other gripe with the the professional interview subjects is that in their discussion of these theories, these ideas, these hypothetical situations, they use the word “literally” way too much. One man is described as “literally leaving no stone unturned” in his research. Really? He literally turned over every stone on this planet looking for clues? Now that I find hard to believe.

There are two ways you can look at this documentary, and in both ways it fails. If you believe what these guys are pushing then odds are you already know all this information already and it offers no new insight. If you don’t believe, this certainly isn’t going to change your mind, though it will cause you to roll your eyes a whole heck of a lot.

The show is presented in a widescreen format and sound is in 2.0 Dolby sound. The show looks and sounds fine. Nothing to complain about here.

None.

Some day when I see sufficient proof of aliens, I’ll be more than happy to believe. This show from the History Channel does not offer that proof. If you’re curious wait for a rerun on TV, this is by no means worthy shelling out $20 for.
