Former welterweight and light middleweight world boxing champion, Ricardo Mayorga, will test the waters of mixed martial arts. Mayorga hopes to have his first MMA fight in the early part of 2010.
Ricardo Mayorga is currently in a legal dispute with Don King, so this may not happen so easily. Don King was Suge Knight before there was a Suge Knight.
Mayorga’s last fight as a boxer was a last-second KO loss to Shane Mosley in September of 2008. At 35 years of age, Mayorga believes his natural instincts as a fighter will translate into MMA success.
