TNA Monday Impact News: Ratings Expectations, Future Shows Confirmed

News

When TNA Impact airs on Monday January 4, 2010, it will be one of a planned series of Monday Night specials for TNA in 2010.

According to Kevin Kay of Spike TV, the current plan is for TNA to air on Mondays quarterly, about every 3 months, for approximately 4 Monday night specials in 2010. If the ratings are strong enough, TNA could find itself with a permanent spot on Monday Nights. “If it’s successful, I’m not opposed to moving it to Monday nights,” Kay said. “This is the time for this – TNA has a lot of momentum with Hulk Hogan and we have the ability to market and promote it.”

Interestingly, expectations for the rating on January 4 have been tempered. TNA does not have a show this week, and has a special all-Knockouts edition on the New Year Eve’s show, which is expected to have low viewership due to the holiday, leaving a gap in the ability to promote to January 4th. Kay, Spike’s President, also refused to commit to a prediction for a rating heading into the battle against Raw.
