For the first time in several weeks, Conan O’Brien topped David Letterman in the ratings on Friday night, scoring a 3.2 household rating compared to The Late Show’s 3.0.

It’s clear that while Conan’s future with NBC is uncertain, he is greatly benefitting from the attention the scandal with Jay Leno is bringing. His monologues have been increasingly catty and sarcastic since news broke that NBC would like Leno to return to the 11:35 PM slot which would bump The Tonight Show to 12:05 AM.
