Wal-Mart has announced that, on March 20, it will exclusively offer The Twilight Saga: New Moon (Ultimate Fan Edition). It’ll include the same content found on the Special Edition Blu-ray of New Moon, but it will come with collectible lenticular packaging and also include a special seven-minute sneak peek of the third installment of the saga, Eclipse, slated for a theatrical release on June 30.
According to the Wal-Mart web site, the exclusive extras begin with an exciting behind-the-scenes look at the production of the newest film in the franchise. New interviews with stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, as well as with series-creator Stephenie Meyer are integrated with revealing, on-the-set footage of some of the key scenes and sets from the upcoming movie. This first-look at “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” then concludes with the world premiere of an actual scene from the film between Bella and Edward that will surely have “Twilight” fans swooning.
Another Wal-Mart exclusive is that it will package the single-disc DVD release with the documentary Twilight in Forks. Which will also be available on its own.
This announcement comes a week after Target has said it will offer an exclusive release that includes a film cell and a second disc with “never-before-seen” content, including interviews with Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner.
Best Buy will sell the movie with exclusive steelbook packaging on DVD and Blu-ray Disc.
With the release scheduled for March 20, I wonder how many teenage girls are going to purchase all of the exclusive releases just so they can have the extra footage of Robert Pattinson and/or Taylor Lautner?
