Machinist Writer Sinks Teeth into Vlad

News, Projects

Never have the undead monsters been so popular (see our story about Dracula Year Zero). Now another bloodsucking film is in the works.

Scott Kosar (The Machinist )has been hired to do a rewrite of Vlad.

The original script, written by actor Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy) takes a more action-oriented look back at Vlad the Impaler, as a young prince who, as legends tell, would go on to become Dracula, the be all end all of the blood sucker set.

Music video director Anthony Mandler, who has done numerous collaborations with Rihanna, recently came aboard to direct the film and will work closely with Kosar on the rewrite.

Kosar’s other writing credits include the 2003 Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, the 2005 Amityville Horror as well as co-writer of the upcoming remake of George A. Romero’s The Crazies.
