Fresh off of Guest Hosting Raw, David Otunga will be on Access Hollywood to be interviewed by Maria Menounos tonight at 7:30 PM EST.
Otunga getting all of this publicity is certainly great for the WWE, so I certainly understand his push, and his look is excellent as well, but when it comes to anything that has to do with getting over in wrestling or being interesting enough for the curious fans who tune in to stay tuned, he has a lot to learn. His charisma, and “it” factor are severely lacking, no matter how much he himself tells us otherwise. This is largely due to underdeveloped mic skills. Giving him a live mic on Raw was a bit of a mess, but he didn’t mess up too terribly. Where he does constantly make mistakes that are impossible to cover is in the ring. The man has no clue out there, and I don’t just mean in doing moves, but also his timing is incredibly off. This is mostly notable as he noticeably awaits cues from both his opponents and referees, constantly stopping to think before he acts, making his matches a stilted mess. The publicity would have been the same later had he just stayed in FCW to learn for now and then the WWE might have a huge star. As is, it’s hard to see how he develops under these circumstances.
