Match Listing for WWE’s Best PPV Matches 2009-2010

Disc Announcements, News

On May 20th, World Wrestling Entertainment will release a compilation of the company’s best PPV bouts from Backlash 2009 through WrestleMania XXVI. Not content to just release their PPV telecasts on DVD and Blu-ray, WWE wants to specifically tell us in digital form what are the best matches from those individual events. To those who already own those events this release is pointless, but for those who only purchase the big events (i.e., Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam), this release is a good way to catch overlooked gems and see the rebranding that WWE did to its PPV line-up in 2009.

The DVD release will be spread across three discs and include small vignettes with certain wrestlers discussing their match at a specific PPV. The Blu-ray Disc release will be on two discs and include those same vignettes as well as four bonus matches.

“The pinnacle for every sports entertainer is to appear on pay-per-view, and once their, they desire to steal the show-put on the best match. For the first time ever on home video, the WWE Universe can enjoy the best PPV matches in a one-year span in one home video collection. The stars of Raw, SmackDown, and ECW present the greatest bouts of the year, from longtime PPV standards WrestleMania, SummerSlam, Survivor Series, and Royal Rumble, as well as newly themed events, including Breaking Point, Hell in a Cell, Bragging Rights, TLC, and Elimination Chamber.”

Seems like a solid line-up, even though they overlooked the Jeff Hardy/Edge match from Extreme Rules. That should have been selected in place of their match from Judgment Day 2009.
